To celebrate our first 10 years at Close Leece Farm, we are holding a special six course, fine dining tasting menu event on Saturday 30th November at 7pm.
The menu is a celebration of our produce and ingredients from other Manx producers. It was designed and will be cooked by our chef Richard Johnson, who has trained under Gordon Ramsay and has over 25 years experience of creating the best in fine dining.
Places are strictly limited and booking is essential. The price is £50 per head, and a £25 deposit is needed to reserve your seat. The rest can be paid on the night. Optionally there is also a wine pairing with each course for an extra £25.

We booked to sample the ten-year celebratory tasting menu on Saturday 9th November. What followed was culinary and service heaven. Carefully thought out dishes to showcase the farm’s produce - including the most lovely rick pork broth with an amazing depth of flavour, a scallop whose texture was perfect, a confit cannon of Loaghtan lamb as well as locally raised and cured meats, goats cheese and honey. Did I mention the panna cotta? Lovely. The skills of the chef were demonstrated throughout, careful, clever yet never tricksy cooking. The wine pairing was sublime, the service professional and the whole experience was just wonderful, so much so we re-booked immediately for the following week (and I left with next morning’s breakfast sausages from the farm shop!)
We’ve been for breakfast a few times before with the kids and the food has always been of high quality (albeit the portions rather large) so we were very happy to see the 6 course tasting menu offering. Each course was presented with a little speech about the ingredients used, the service was wonderful, and you could really tell a huge effort had been made with not only the food, but also with the ambiance of the evening. It’s so great to see (and taste) Manx products being used to create a wonderful tasting experience. My request for no fish didn’t meet with any objections, also a big plus. We’d definitely go back and I hope to more of these evenings in the future.
2 of us attended the 6 course Food Tasting event last night. Oh, it was just superb. It really was. You know when you watch those Masterchef type programmes and wonder what the food really tastes like, well we found out last night. Imagine egg yolk ravioli in your soup (broth). Or almond toast and walnut bread. Pea purée, apple jelly. Oh and best of all, the Loaghtan Lamb that just fell apart. All served with discreet efficiency. What a treat. (We’ve also been during the Summer and sat outside with our dog & even he liked it!)
I attended the 6 course taster menu evening with wine thank you to my lovely neighbour's and i have to say its the best food i have tasted on the island, the flavours and delivery of each course were perfect which is why were going again. The staff were very attentive and helpfull and did not hesitate to change a wine as i do not drink red. Thank you again for a wonderful experience.
